Following a recent federal review of infrastructure projects to be co-funded by Federal and State Governments, the long-awaited Melbourne Airport Rail Link project (currently in the early works phase) has been given the green light to continue.

The train line will connect travellers directly to Melbourne Airport from Sunshine Station, making it an exciting and convenient development for residents at River Valley.

Furthermore, the wider Suburban Rail Link project (which the Airport Rail Link forms part of) will connect every major train service, improving links to jobs, retail, healthcare and education across the state.  Sunshine will become one of three transport super hubs that will also look to connect regional services, so passengers outside Melbourne won’t have to travel through the CBD to their suburban destinations.

In addition to reducing travel times and creating thousands of jobs, the development will also have a positive impact on local communities, delivering enhanced walking and cycling tracks and a number of public open green spaces to use and enjoy.
